Cane Creek is a family farm. Father and son Bobby and Michael Kirk run the day to day operations of the farm. The Kirk Family has been involved in farming for over 100 years. There is actually a Revolutionary war battle nearby called "The Battle of Kirk's Farm".

Bobby's parents, Bob and Martha, were both raised on farms. Bob was a dairy farmer all his life and Martha was raised on a tobacco farm in Caswell county. The love of growing, harvesting, preserving and hard work was learned at a very early age. Mom and Dad inspired us to always grow our food. Michael was already selling produce in my parents yard out of his red wagon when he was just 8 years old.

Just a few years ago we were Dairy farming and farming in three counties but decided in 1998 to follow a passion of training bird dogs and field trialing English setters. Our Ch Crescent City Dexter won the National All-Age English Setter award the first year Bobby turned pro! The passion of producing all-age setters, competing with them Nationaly from the backs of smooth Tennessee walking horses and introducing others to field trialing had begun in a huge way.

This year we are offering CSA memberships, horseback riding, farm services and we'll have our farm stand. Also Cane Creek general store will be online. There will be activities at the farm at least monthly. We will strive to teach others about growing harvesting and preserving home grown food and how to provide a habitat and live with our local wildlife. Cane Creek will expand to over 10 acres of Produce in 2009. More can be added if there is demand and help.

We at Cane Creek invite you to share our passions of enjoying Mother Nature, good riding Tennessee walking Horses, English Setters, planting and watching good things grow, playing music, cooking and eating home grown food. Visitors are welcome by appointment or on open days.

Come enjoy the beauty of Cane Creek Farms!
